  4. To you who have waited patiently for news about ScreenSnap, 
  5.  
  6. I have just created a new release of the shareware screen capture 
  7. utility, ScreenSnap(TM) version 2.4 for the Macintosh(R).  ScreenSnap 
  8. 2.4 supercedes ScreenSnap 2.3, released in June 1992. I have 
  9. since dissolved Knowledge Source, Inc., so send suggestions and 
  10. questions directly to me now, at the address below.

  12. ScreenSnap 2.4 lets you take a snapshot of any rectangular portion 
  13. of the Macintosh screen and save it in a window for later use.  Once 
  14. created, the snapshot can be inverted, moved, saved as a PICT file, copied 
  15. to the Clipboard (and pasted into applications), printed, or just left hanging
  16. around on-screen for reference.   Because ScreenSnap uses PICT format for
  17. its files, it can read the output of most drawing programs, and be used as
  18. a PICT file viewer.  You can get pixel dimension information on any PICT 
  19. file (width, height, and depth).  ScreenSnap handles color, multiple monitors 
  20. (including snapping across monitors), and multiple screensnaps.  A 
  21. screensnap can be dragged from any point in its window.

  23. ScreenSnap is useful in many situations.  For example:
  24.  - When reading electronic mail, an important message can be snapped for
  25.    later reference.
  26.  - When running a program, important results can be snapped and printed
  27.    instantly.
  28.  - When programming, screen output can be snapped and saved for later
  29.    reference, for user interface mock-up, or for pasting into a document.

  31. You can set a default rectangle size for capture, when you need a PICT of a 
  32. specific size.

  34. I am requesting an $11 shareware fee from people who use ScreenSnap 
  35. 2.4; and $7 would be a generous upgrade fee, or additional amount for a 
  36. request to get a copy via floppy disk (so a total of 11+7 = $18 for a 
  37. new copy of 2.4 on floppy by mail -- I expect most people will get it 
  38. from online services).  Of course, the fee is entirely optional ...it's 
  39. shareware.  Try it first & then decide.  Thank you.
